Triangle Area Telugu Association(TATA)

Telugu association in RTP area initially started as an informal gathering of Telugu families in this area to celegrate Ugadi program with Potluck lunch in Pullen Community Center, Raleigh in 1986. Since 1987 the annual Ugadi program was coordinated by Telugu Community at Hindu Society. Early 1990’s, a formal (non-registered) Triangle Area Telugu Association(TATA) was formed with Telugu Picnic and monthly Vishnusahasranamam recital activities. Prasad Vaguri garu has been there all along during its initial inception of these congregations of Telugus. In 2001, Ramanand Achanta and his team registered TATA as non-profit corporation and obtain tax exemption status. It is this team of BODs authored TATA by-laws and opened first bank account for TATA.
